Multi-pitch climbing for beginners

Are the individual pitches of sport climbing not enough for you and do you want to go to even more dizzying heights? Then multi-pitch climbing is the right thing for you. We are here to safely guide you on your first multi-pitches.
Join us for a one-day outdoor lead climbing course in the renowned Freyr climbing area, located in the picturesque Ardennes region of Belgium. This course is designed for climbers who have some outdoor climbing experience and are eager to transition to multi-pitch climbing outdoors in a safe and supportive environment.
Prerequisites: · Experience in belaying and lead climbing on rock. Potentially our courses Outdoor climbing for beginners.
If you have sufficient experience lead climbing outdoors, e.g. you already took our courses Outdoor lead climbing for beginners, or Outdoor lead climbing I, then we could also teach you further skills or immediately help you transition towards lead climbing.
Course contents:
- Introduction to multi-pitch climbing: Understand the basics of multi-pitch climbing, including basic anchor techniques and management, climbing in teams, rope handling at the belays
- Safety and risk management: Understand key safety practices, including how to assess potential risks and handle basic route finding.
- Belaying for lead climbers: Learn how to safely belay a lead climber, manage the rope, and deal with the dynamic forces involved in lead climbing
- Climb your first or even your second multi-pitch route in the wonderful area of Freyr.
This course is ideal for climbers who are comfortable with indoor lead climbing or top-rope routes and are now ready to experience the thrill of multi-pitch climbing. By the end of the day, you’ll have gained some basic skills and confidence for multi-pitch climbing.
Bad weather policy
As stated in our General Terms of Conditions, the organizer reserves the right to terminate the contract if, before the start of the course/excursion, the weather conditions cannot guarantee that the course/excursion can be carried out safely. The customer will then be refunded the price for services not received.
Organization and Communication
We will send you a confirmation email after you registered (please check your spam folder). Several days before the offer begins, we will reach out to you and all other participants to coordinate travel plans and, if necessary, discuss options if the minimum number of participants has not been met. We will finalize details such as the meeting point, equipment, travel, and other organizational information.
Material needed
For this course you should have your own bouldering equipment. Bouldering mats can be provided free of charge by HiFive.
Conducting the course with fewer than the minimum number of participants
For an additional fee (see “Offer costs”), the course will still take place even if there are fewer than the minimum number of participants. You can choose this option when registering if desired.
