Multi-pitch climbing in Rotenfels

Are you longing forward to climb at a challenging multi-pitch climbing area with an alpine flair that’s only 2 h 15 min drive from Luxembourg? Our professional climbing coaches will take you up this classic cliff, and on the way teach you the tricks and trades of multi-pitch climbing.

The Rotenfels is an imposing cliff face that rises over 200 metres in height and almost 1200 metres in length. It stretches from Norheim to Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg. As the most striking part of a volcanic rock massif, the Rotenfels forms an outstanding geological point.

Course contents:

  • Saturday
    • Revision of multi-pitch climbing
    • We then climb in a small team of maximum two participants, led by one of our experienced instructors, one of the classical routes up Rotenfels.
    • Technique and tactic tips from our instructors
    • If we have enough time, we can add another route on this imposing cliff.
    • Reflection on the day’s climbing experiences. Open Q&A to discuss challenges faced while climbing and techniques for improvement.
    • Dinner, followed by socializing and relaxation.
  • Sunday
    • We will choose another route on Rotenfels, or spend the rest of the day at a sport climbing crag.
    • For those comfortable with leading, instructors will help guide participants in leading their first multi-pitch route.
    • Drive back late afternoon.

Each day includes practical, in-the-field learning, allowing you to apply new skills on actual lead routes under the guidance of experienced instructors.

Offer: Our offer includes guiding, accomodation and breakfast, and material such as ropes, quickdraws, helmet. Not included is car pooling (potentially also from participants), lunch and dinner.

Organization and Communication

We will send you a confirmation email after you registered (please check your spam folder). Two weeks before the offer begins, we will reach out to you and all other participants to coordinate travel plans and, if necessary, discuss options if the minimum number of participants has not been met. We will finalize details such as the meeting point, equipment, travel, and other organizational information.

Travel and accomodation

Travel and accomodation will be organized shortly before the trip when we know the final number of participants. For travel we are generally car pooling. The additional costs for car pooling will be calculated based on petrol expenses (and potentially a bottle of wine for the driver or the likes). Depending on the participants, it is also possible to rent a minibus. In this case the total costs for the minibus will be around 400 € and shared among the participants.

For accomodation we offer accomodation in a hotel. This will imply shared bedrooms for participants. However, if participants want to have a single room, then this will require a surcharge. Please request this during your booking.

Bad weather policy

As stated in our General Terms of Conditions, the organizer reserves the right to terminate the contract if, before the start of the course/excursion, the weather conditions cannot guarantee that the course/excursion can be carried out safely. The customer will then be refunded the price for services not received.
