Outdoor climbing for beginners

Step into the world of outdoor climbing with this one-day beginner course in Audun-le-Tiche, a beautiful climbing area in France just across the border of Luxembourg. Perfect for those looking to make the transition from indoor walls to natural rock, this course will introduce you to the basics of outdoor rock climbing in a fun and supportive environment.
Throughout the day, you’ll learn essential safety practices and our instructors are here to provide you with the necessary knowledge for sport climbing on the rocks and to accompany you on your first steps outside. The course includes basic safety aspects on the rock, what to pay particular attention to outdoors, how to recognize good and safe climbs, and much more, which we adapt individually to your needs and wishes.
Prerequisites: Safe and independent belaying
The course includes, among others
- Understanding topos and choosing routes
- Differences indoor and outdoor
- Route reading: dangerous routes, understanding the route and planning ahead
- Protection: quality of fixed protection, different types of bolts
- How to assess rock quality – what might break? Identifying loose rock
- Setting up topropes safely
- Communication
- Fall zones & ground conditions
- First aid
- Climbing areas & regulations
- Environmental protection & behavior at the crag
There will be lots of practical climbing experience: Put your new skills to use on beginner-friendly routes in Audun-le-Tiche, with hands-on guidance from your instructor. This course is ideal for anyone who wants to experience the thrill of outdoor climbing in a well-adapted setting. By the end of the day, you’ll start to feel comfortable on the rock and gain the confidence to continue your outdoor climbing adventures.
Bad weather policy
In case of bad weather we generally have two options:
1) Change the course location. As alternatives we would then offer Gerolstein, Pfalz or Freyr. All areas are maximum two hours drive away from Luxembourg.
2) As stated in our General Terms of Conditions, the organizer reserves the right to terminate the contract if, before the start of the course/excursion, the weather conditions cannot guarantee that the course/excursion can be carried out safely. The customer will then be refunded the price for services not received.
Organization and Communication
We will send you a confirmation email after you registered (please check your spam folder). Several days before the offer begins, we will reach out to you and all other participants to coordinate travel plans and, if necessary, discuss options if the minimum number of participants has not been met. We will finalize details such as the meeting point, equipment, travel, and other organizational information.

Conducting the course with fewer than the minimum number of participants
For an additional fee (see „Offer costs“), the course will still take place even if there are fewer than the minimum number of participants. You can choose this option when registering if desired.
