Frankenjura is simply THE sport climbing area in Germany, about five hours drive from Luxembourg. It is the area where the famous all-stars of climbing gained their experience, from Wolfgang Güllich, the climber who first climbed a 9a, to Kurt Albert, the man who developed the idea behind redpoint climbing. Frankenjura is a region which has sport climbing written all over it, and if you enjoy beers, then it has the largest number of beer breweries per square kilometer in the world. Now, if that is not an argument to spend a couple of days there, then what is?

“Booked a 4 day group climbing session in Frankenjura with trainers Tom & Ingmar. Although the group members’ climbing skills stretched over 2 grades, everyone had fun while expanding his comfort zone and improving his skills. Will definitely repeat.”

This trip takes place over four days and is individually adapted to each group. We are there for you to give you the necessary knowledge for sport climbing outdoors, to accompany you on your first steps on the rock, or we help you to work on amazing projects at your limit.
We will focus on the nicest routes, adapted to your level, while at the same time teaching skills related to climbing technique and tactics, all while spending a wonderful longer weekend together.
We will meet directly at the crag on the midday of the first day. On Friday and Saturday we will spend around 6 hours a day on the rock. On the fourth day we will climb together until the late afternoon.
Course contents:
- Thursday
- Either drive to Frankenjura together or meet at the crag – in any case we will leave early enough so that we can already climb

Organization and Communication
We will send you a confirmation email after you registered (please check your spam folder). After the booking deadline, we will reach out to you and all other participants to coordinate travel plans and, if necessary, discuss options if the minimum number of participants has not been met. We will finalize details such as the meeting point, equipment, travel, and other organizational information.
Independent vs guided participants
We offer two different prices depending on whether you are independent participant or one that needs guiding. An independent participant will benefit from the accomodation, food, local travel, but will receive only minor guiding instructions. This means that we will suggest climbing areas or routes, help with the local travel, but we will not supervise your climbing.
In contrast, the guided participants receive our full attention. We will supervise your climbing, give tips and tricks, provide in-field teaching in order to help you progress towards becoming an independent climber, put up the topropes for you, and if possible, take you on multi-pitch adventures.
Requirements for being an independent climber:
- you can safely lead and belay outdoors yourself
- you are able to climb independently
- you are able to evaluate the safety aspects of a climb
An independent climber is responsible for his or her own safety and HiFive insurance will not be responsible if an independent climber has an accident during an unsupervised climb.
Travel and accommodation
Travel and accommodation will be organized shortly before the trip when we know the final number of participants. For travel we are generally car pooling. The additional costs for car pooling will be calculated based on petrol expenses (and potentially a bottle of wine for the driver or the likes). Depending on the participants, it is also possible to rent a minibus. In this case the total costs for the minibus will be around 600 € (petrol expenses not included) and shared among the participants.
For accommodation the offer includes rooms with single beds, double beds or a combination of both. This will (potentially) imply shared bedrooms for participants. It is also possible to ask for a single room, which then adds a surcharge. Please inform us during your booking.
Bad weather policy
In case of bad weather we generally have two options:
1) Change the course location. As alternatives we would then offer Pfalz or Freyr. All areas are maximum two hours drive away from Luxembourg.
2) As stated in our General Terms of Conditions, the organizer reserves the right to terminate the contract if, before the start of the course/excursion, the weather conditions cannot guarantee that the course/excursion can be carried out safely. The customer will then be refunded the price for services not received.

Conducting the course with fewer than the minimum number of participants
If you want, then the course can still take place, even if there are fewer than the minimum number of participants. In this case a surcharge will apply.
