Strength Training for Climbers

Take your climbing to the next level with our Strength Training for Climbers course, designed to build the specific muscle groups and endurance required for climbing success. This course focuses on developing upper body, core, and finger strength, with exercises tailored to improve your grip, pull, and push power. You’ll learn a variety of training techniques, including bodyweight exercises, weight training, and climbing-specific drills, all aimed at boosting your performance on the wall. This course will help you understand how you can improve and train your the strength to tackle more challenging routes with confidence.

Our internationally-certified and experienced instructors will guide you through the fundamental techniques in a fun and supportive environment. This course can be useful for those who only top rope, but participants will benefit the most if they have lead climbing experience.

Course contents

  • Developing Upper Body Strength: Building upper body strength for climbing enhances your pulling power and endurance, enabling you to tackle overhangs, reach high holds, and maintain control during challenging moves.
  • Improving Core Strength: A strong core improves stability, body tension, and movement efficiency, allowing climbers to maintain proper posture and control during dynamic or sustained climbs.
  • Developing Finger Strength: Finger strength is crucial for gripping holds and maintaining control on difficult holds, improving your ability to climb harder routes.

Each session includes practical, in-the-field learning, allowing you to apply new skills on actual lead routes under the guidance of experienced instructors.

Organization and Communication

We will send you a confirmation email after you registered (please check your spam folder). Several days before the offer begins, we will reach out to you and all other participants to coordinate travel plans and, if necessary, discuss options if the minimum number of participants has not been met. We will finalize details such as the meeting point, equipment, travel, and other organizational information.

Material needed

For this course you should wear normal sports clothing and potentially bring something to take notes.

Conducting the course with fewer than the minimum number of participants

For an additional fee (see “Offer costs”), the course will still take place even if there are fewer than the minimum number of participants. You can choose this option when registering if desired.
